When my eyes are closed, the monster can’t ever see me.
When I sing a song in my head, the monster can’t ever hear me.
When I pretend my bedroom is a playground where I play hide and seek, the monster can’t ever find me.

The darkness should frighten me.
I should worry I’ll find more monsters…monsters scarier than him.
But I’m not afraid.

It’s safe here.
When I’m inside of my head…

He. Can’t. Ever. Touch. Me.

Warning:

My Review:
5 Stars!

K Webster has quickly become one of my absolute favorite authors. She has a way of making you fall in love with the darkest and most twisted stories you could think of. Whispers and the Roars may be a dark story, but it is also absolutely beautifully tragic.

Essentially this is a story about a boy and a girl. The boy has loved this girl since he was ten. It doesn't matter that most of his family doesn't approve, the girl is his forever. When she makes him leave to pursue education, it's all he can do to keep it together until he can return to her.

The girl will always love the boy. She had to make him leave, it was the only way he could enjoy a normal life. A life that didn't involve the girl or her demons. The demons that whisper and roar. It's always easier to get whispers when the boy is near, but her love for the boy won't let her keep him, only to destroy him in the process.

Whispers and the Roars for me is a love story. It's a love that is all encompassing, all seeing and all destroying. Follow this girl and boy as they try and claim what they've wanted for so long.
